Holiday Happenings
It's coming. Slow, but it's coming.
The decorating for the most part, is done. The boxes have been added to those in the garage until after the holiday. I'm not dragging them back to the shed only to drag them OUT again.
I even made a batch of chocolate covered pretzels that I'm giving as Christmas gifts. I like giving homemade things... and well we got this case[CASE?] of pretzel pieces and I feel the need to use'em up!
Hey, at least I won't be eating them.
I made'em fancy-schmancy by sprinkling some red/green sprinkles before they dry/harden. Then wrapped them in plastic gift bags.
Cute.
Yeah. Go figure.
Today, we go pick out the Ham. I don't know why she's insisting on buying it so early, I think she's afraid they're going to run out.
Been doing a lot of social things. Catching up with people who I don't normally see, just in passing.
Schmoozing. Some for pleasure, some for biz. It all works out in the end.
Seen/will be seen some Theater. Still miles to go before we call it a 'Season'.
For the most part, I'm likin' it. It's very different seeing the same ol'decorations, but in a new space. It took me a while to figure out where to put things. Things that I don't remember NOT seeing every holiday. Things OLDER than me, if you can believe it. Hell, some of the boxes that the stuff is in -- are OLDER than I am.
Still, it's bitter sweet.
I see Dad's handwriting on the Christmas Card lists. On the boxes and know that there are decorations that are just entirely GOOFY, but he loved'em.
He played Santa a lot over the years. Not just for me, I mean, he really WAS Santa. He always wondered where I got my talent from?
Yeah. This from the man who SEWED his OWN Santa Suit.
